Can I still live in my property if there is building work happening?
Depending on the room your builders are working in, there is no reason you can’t continue to live permanently in your home. Staying in local accommodation can become costly on top of what you are already paying for your renovation. If you have friends or family local who are willing to allow you to stay, then there is absolutely no problem with this.
If you are onsite you can stay up to date with the project, where your team are builders currently are with the renovation and ask any questions you have as the work is being carried out. Alternatively, you could comprise and live in the property as normal but when the team of builders are in and jobs are being completed you can leave your home,return after the team have finished for the day or before they finish to catch up about any decisions they require you to make before going ahead.
Your team of builders are there to work with you from concept to completion and turn your dream into a reality. So, to a point, they will need your input and you opinion on decisions that are made. Never be too far away in case you are needed, or a problem occurs.
